Kennebunkwhat??

Made a quick 2 night trip to SeaVu West campground to see Kennebunkport and Ogunquit just because…(BTW, you can’t see the sea from SeaVu West but it’s a beautiful tree-filled campground in Wells, ME.) Spent an afternoon walking down Ocean Avenue and checking out the shopping and then headed to Snug Harbor Farm which is a great nursery, all decked out with pumpkins and skeleton heads and 6 beautiful greenhouses filled with topiaries, succulents, peacocks, hens, etc…totally wonderful.

The next day Tim wasn’t feeling well so I was on my own. Made an appointment at Sea Love, a candle company, to make my own candle, which surprisingly is a big thing to have (at least to us) in ZsaZsa. We’re going through them rapidly and I’ve found a few I love, so I was going to try to replicate it at Sea Love. This was a great stop…and I spent an hour making my own candle, creating a label and will start to burn it soon. (It has to sit for at least 24 hours). I am basing it off the Date Night Candle from Anchored Northwest (highly recommend). My newly created ZsaZsa candle had to sit for 2 hours so I had to kill some time shopping….dang. Wandered Kennebunkport, met some lovely shop owners, took in the autumnal sights, read about the ship building history and popped by the Bush compound for a quick cup of coffee. They are doing well 🙂 Remarkably I left town with nothing more than a lobster dishtowel and my candle. You can shop there for sure…but when you’re in a 35 ft trailer and never change your clothes, the fun kind of goes out of it…

From there, I took the advice of a darling middle aged male shop owner, who told me to go to Ogunquit, walk Marginal way ( a public 2 mile walkway that hugs the beautiful Maine coastline) and have a drink at Jackies Too ( a famous bar because I think the owner killed her husband?!!). Unbelievable views…rocky Maine coastline, paddle boarders riding the waves, people painting the scenery, folks sitting out in chairs at spendy hotels watching the waves. It was a wonderful walk and I capped it off with a glass of Prosecco at Jackies Too and then made the trek back. Ogunquit is a darling little town (as are they all) and it was a delightful Sunday!
