We stayed at a lovely little state park in Newport and spent the first night having a wonderful dinner at Matunuck’s at the recommendation of our server at the Gardner museum in Boston. The fish and chips and tuna tartare tacos were fabulous and the scene was very cool. It was out in the middle of nowhere to us, but as we drove up it seemed like everyone was there. On the water, tent and party lights, bustling dinner scene, great server….it was the bomb! The following day we drove into Newport and did the mansion thing….really unbelievable homes along Ocean Drive….but more than anything loved the little town shops and the wharf. There was a band and a fall harvest with pumpkins and a halloween parade and it was full of charm. We ate (again) at a restaurant on the water, famed for its owner who caught a 33 lb. lobster back in the day. Delicious fishcakes with a cocktail and that’s all she wrote. Simple, sunny, water-filled, autumn day. Divine.
Is anybody reading these?

Isn’t New England in the fall amazing! Can’t wait to hear more about Acadia…. I am behind as I hadn’t read any entries since the wedding…
Explore away!😘
We have been fortunate enough to follow the leaves from early October until mid November. It was glorious. The pics can’t do the patchwork fall colors across mountains justice! Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving…
I’m reading!! Plan to tuck these away for when we go to these places!
I am! Thought I posted a comment. Am tucking these places to see, things to do away for the future!❤️
